MS SB2561

Adds new subsection (8) to Section 47-7-27 allowing the parole board to revoke parole and impose remaining time if a parolee commits a felony or absconds supervision based on preponderance of evidence.

Defines "absconded" as failure of a parolee to report to supervising officer for six or more consecutive months.

Requires the parole board to report semiannually to the Oversight Task Force on parole violation warrants, hearing timelines, technical violation center sentences, and suspended sentences imposed.

Effective July 1, 2016.
