Voids contract provisions in marriage-related disputes that specify application of foreign law if doing so would violate fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution or Mississippi Constitution.

Voids contract provisions in marriage-related disputes that designate foreign forums outside U.S. states and territories if the foreign law applied there would violate fundamental constitutional rights.

Prohibits courts, arbitrators, and administrative adjudicators from basing rulings in parent-child relationship cases on foreign law if application would violate fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution, Mississippi Constitution, or state statute.

Voids contract provisions in parent-child relationship disputes that specify application of foreign law or designate foreign forums outside U.S. states and territories when doing so would violate fundamental constitutional rights.

Exempts corporations and other legal entities from these restrictions when they contract to subject themselves to foreign law in jurisdictions outside Mississippi and the United States.

Effective date: July 1, 2016.
