Requires limited surety agents to complete 40 classroom hours of prelicensing education approved by the Mississippi Coalition of Limited Sureties before receiving an initial license.

Exempts currently licensed limited surety agents as of July 1, 2016, who maintain compliance with continuing education requirements from the 40-hour prelicensing education requirement.

Specifies that prelicensing education hours must be classroom-based and cannot be obtained through correspondence or online courses.

Applies the same exemption to applicants who have met continuing education requirements and held a valid license within 90 days of submitting a new application.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
