Requires high school graduates and GED applicants to pass a test identical to the civics portion of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalization test, beginning in the 2016-2017 school year.

Students must correctly answer at least 60 of the 100 questions on the civics test as a graduation requirement.

Local school boards determine the method and manner of administering the civics test.

Students who fail the civics test may retake it multiple times until achieving a passing score.

The civics test requirement becomes part of the minimum academic standards for social studies in Mississippi high schools.
