Amends Mississippi Code Section 97-15-13 to clarify the prohibition against hunting on streets, public roads, highways, levees, and railroads.

Defines key terms including "right-of-way" (portion of street, road, highway, levee or railroad up to adjacent property line or fence line), "firearm" (any firearm other than a handgun), and "hunt" or "hunting" (to hunt, chase, shoot at, or kill wild animals or birds with a firearm).

Makes it unlawful to hunt with a firearm on one's person or discharge any firearm in, on, or across streets, public roads, highways, levees, railroads, or their right-of-ways; violators face fines of $100-$500 and/or 60 days to 6 months in county jail.

Exempts law enforcement officers performing official duties and persons engaged in lawful self-defense from the hunting prohibition.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
