Amends Section 63-3-519 of the Mississippi Code to authorize sheriffs and deputy sheriffs of any county to use radar speed detection equipment on public roads and highways.

Previously only the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol and certain municipal law enforcement officers and campus police could use radar speed detection equipment.

Clarifies that municipal law enforcement in cities with population over 15,000 can use radar on federally designated highways within city limits according to the latest federal decennial census.

Requires the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol to refrain from setting up radar on highways within municipalities with a population exceeding 15,000 according to the latest federal decennial census.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
