Senate Bill 2911 Summary

• Appropriates $38,389,192 from the State General Fund and $3,000,000 from the State Treasury to the Department of Finance and Administration for fiscal year 2017 (July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017).

• Authorizes 460 permanent full-time positions, 3 permanent part-time positions, and 1 time-limited full-time position for the department.

• Appropriates $4,937,444 to the Tort Claims Board, $37,212 to the Mississippi Commission on the Status of Women, and $1,694,552 as a grant to the Mississippi Home Corporation.

• Allocates up to $500,000 for building repairs and maintenance, $400,000 for police protection services, and $3,000,000 from the Capital Expense Fund for Mississippi State Capitol repairs and renovations.

• Designates funds for housing assistance for individuals with disabilities or serious mental illnesses who are being discharged from state facilities or are homeless, with restrictions on use of appropriated funds for legislative members or MHC officials.
