Northwest Mississippi Community College football team won the NJCAA National Championship on December 6, 2015, defeating Rochester Community and Technical College 66-13 in the Mississippi Bowl VIII at Biloxi High School.

The Rangers finished the season 11-1 and claimed their third national title in school history, with previous championships in 1982 and 1992.

Head Coach Jack Wright led the team to their first MACJC Football Championship in 16 years, also defeating Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College 34-24 on November 7, 2015, for the ninth state title in program history.

Key players included quarterback Gardner Minshew (All-State from Brandon High), tailback Justin Crawford (145 yards and 2 touchdowns in championship game), and receiver Jacob McCrary (7 catches for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns).

Resolution commends and congratulates the football team and Head Coach Jack Wright for the national championship and directs the resolution be presented to Coach Wright and Northwest Mississippi Community College leadership.
