Congratulates Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, on its "2016 AKA Day at the Mississippi State Capitol" held on February 9, 2016, to promote advocacy for civil rights, social justice, and health promotion.

Recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha as the first Greek-letter sorority for college-educated African-American women, founded in 1908 at Howard University, with over 280,000 members in more than 980 chapters and 30+ chapters in Mississippi.

Acknowledges the sorority's international programs focused on Educational Enrichment, Health Promotion, Family Strengthening, Environmental Ownership, and Global Impact, and notes members have contributed over two million hours of community service.

Recognizes seven Alpha Kappa Alpha members serving in the Mississippi Legislature: Representatives Sonya Williams-Barnes, Kimberly L. Campbell, Alyce G. Clarke, Angela Cockerham, LaTaisha Jackson, and Sara R. Thomas, and Senator Tammy Witherspoon.

Directs presentation of the resolution to committee representatives of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority's Mississippi chapters and to the Capitol Press Corps.
