Commends and congratulates the Ingomar High School "Lady Falcons" girls basketball team and Coach Trent Adair for winning the MHSAA Class 2A State Championship on March 11, 2016.

Team defeated the undefeated Heidelberg Lady Oilers 41-40 in an upset victory at the Mississippi Coliseum, marking Ingomar's fourth state title and first since 1994.

Mallory Russell scored 12 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and blocked a crucial shot with 51 seconds remaining in the championship game.

Roster consisted of one junior and primarily freshmen and sophomores who demonstrated strong fundamental defense and methodical offense throughout the season.

Resolution directs that the resolution be presented to Coach Trent Adair, Ingomar Principal Mark Grubbs, the Union County Board of Education, and Capitol Press Corps.
