Madison-Ridgeland Academy boys basketball team won the MAIS Class AAA State Championship on March 3, 2016, defeating Simpson Academy 57-44.

MRA finished the season 32-3 with a perfect 8-0 postseason record, claiming both Division I-AAAA and AAAA State Championships.

Senior Austin Waldrop led the championship game with 15 points including three 3-pointers in his final game for the Patriots.

Head Coach Richard Duease achieved his 988th career win with this championship, placing him 36 wins away from becoming Mississippi's all-time winningest boys basketball coach.
