East Central Community College "Lady Warriors" women's basketball team finished the 2015-2016 season with a 24-3 record under Head Coach Crandal Porter, winning 19 consecutive games from December 7, 2015 to March 2, 2016

Team won the 2016 MACJC Women's State Tournament with a 75-63 victory over Itawamba Community College in the finals, marking their first state championship since the 2003-2004 season

Lady Warriors finished first in the MACJC South Division with a 13-1 record, maintained a perfect 12-0 home record, and were ranked as high as No. 23 nationally during the regular season

Multiple team members received postseason recognition including First Team All-State honors for sophomores Samantha Duncan and Alexia McDonald, while Head Coach Crandal Porter was named MACJC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year

Senate and House jointly commend the team, Head Coach Porter, and supporting staff for their outstanding season and athletic achievements bringing honor to East Central Community College and the State of Mississippi
