Recognizes Dr. Michael Henderson, Chief Medical Officer at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, for being named one of the nation's "100 Hospital and Health System Chief Medical Officers to Know" by Becker's Hospital Review.

Dr. Henderson was appointed CMO at UMMC in March 2015, joining from Cleveland Clinic where he served as Chief Quality Officer and Chairman of the Quality and Patient Safety Institute.

Has implemented quality improvement initiatives at UMMC including reducing infections, lowering mortality rates, improving patient experience, and decreasing readmissions through a dyad model pairing physician leaders with administrative experts.

Trained as a hepatobiliary transplant surgeon with international expertise in health care quality improvement; established liver transplant programs at Emory University Hospital and Cleveland Clinic, and contributed to WHO's Leaders Guide on Patient Safety.

Resolution directs the resolution be presented to Dr. Henderson, forwarded to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
