Commends and congratulates 9-year-old Emerson Blair from West Point, Mississippi for winning the USGA "Drive, Chip and Putt Championship" for the girls' 7-9 age group at Augusta National Golf Course on April 3, 2016.

Emerson Blair won the championship with a total score of 24.5 points, placing second in driving, fifth in chipping, and first in putting to overcome a six-point deficit heading into the final round.

Blair earned her championship berth by participating in three qualifying competitions in Madison, New Orleans, and Houston, and is a member of the Junior Golf Program at Old Waverly Golf Club.

Eighty aspiring young golfers from across the United States participated in the championship, which was broadcast on the Golf Channel.

The resolution extends best wishes to Emerson Blair as she begins her golf career and recognizes the honor she has brought to her family, instructors, and the State of Mississippi.
