Commends and congratulates Jodi McKenzie, a 10th and 11th grade English teacher at Gautier High School, for being selected as the 2016 Mississippi Teacher of the Year.

McKenzie serves as English Department Chairperson, Student Council sponsor, and Building Leadership Team member; she has 12 years of teaching experience, including 6 years at Gautier High School.

McKenzie holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master's degree from William Carey University.

As Mississippi's Teacher of the Year, McKenzie will attend a White House reception with the President and First Lady and compete for the National Teacher of the Year award.

Directs that the resolution be presented to McKenzie, forwarded to Gautier High School's principal and the Pascagoula School Board, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
