Creates a 17-member study committee to examine the Jackson Metropolitan Area Airport Authority and its financial impacts on the City of Jackson and State of Mississippi following Senate Bill No. 2162 (2016).

Committee membership includes appointees from the Governor (2), Speaker of the House (2), Lieutenant Governor (2), chairs and vice-chairs of relevant appropriations and finance committees, the Mayor of Jackson (2), and the Executive Director of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority.

Committee shall study financial impacts on both the city and state resulting from creation of the Jackson Metropolitan Area Airport Authority and abolishment of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority, and compare financial status before and after Senate Bill No. 2162.

Governor appoints the committee chair and calls the first meeting; members serve without compensation and the committee receives no state appropriation but may accept donations or grants from public or private sources.

Committee must submit findings to the Legislature by December 1, 2017, and is automatically repealed effective January 1, 2018.
