Amends Mississippi Code Section 63-3-519 to authorize sheriffs and deputy sheriffs to use radar speed detection equipment on county roads and highways outside incorporated municipalities if the county board of supervisors adopts an ordinance permitting such use.

Allows radar equipment use only on public roads under county board of supervisors jurisdiction for maintenance and construction that lie outside municipal corporate limits.

Maintains existing radar use permissions for the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, municipal law enforcement in municipalities with populations of 2,000 or more, and college/university campus police with enrollments exceeding 2,000 students.

Prohibits the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol from setting up radar on highways within municipalities with populations exceeding 15,000 according to the latest federal decennial census.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
