Requires superintendent to notify licensed school employees of charges against them before dismissal or suspension for more than five days and provide a public hearing.

Requires superintendent to notify licensed school employees of charges for suspensions of five days or less, provide opportunity to respond, and allow employee to request school board review of superintendent's decision.

Allows superintendent to immediately remove employee from duties if their continued presence poses threat to health, safety, or welfare of students or disrupts school operations, with compensation owed until hearing date if employee requests one.

Prohibits school boards from denying employment or reemployment to superintendents, principals, licensed employees, or noninstructional personnel solely because their eligible children do not attend the school system where they work.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
