Amends Section 97-5-39 of Mississippi Code to expand the definition of "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" to include knowingly causing a child to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Law or participate in gang or gang-related activities.

Makes violating this expanded provision a misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $1,000, imprisonment up to one year, or both.

Defines a child as any person under 18 years old, with exceptions for those on active military duty or who are married.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
