Nursing schools and degree programs at Mississippi state institutions of higher learning and public community/junior colleges with 100% enrollment during 2016-2017 are eligible for state funding to hire up to four additional faculty members beginning in 2017-2018.

Schools receiving funding must increase enrollment proportionately for each additional faculty member hired with the provided funds.

Legislature shall appropriate necessary funds to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, Mississippi Community College Board, and State Department of Education to implement the program.

Amends Section 71-5-353 to expand the Mississippi Workforce Enhancement Training Fund to include purposes of funding nursing schools and degree programs to hire additional faculty members.

Effective date is July 1, 2017.
