MS HB25

Requires the Mississippi Department of Transportation to install rumble strips or similar audible warning devices along road shoulders when highways, roads, or streets under its jurisdiction are constructed, resurfaced, or have shoulders improved, effective July 1, 2017.

Exempts low speed zones within municipalities from the rumble strip requirement.

Exempts areas sensitive to noise pollution, including schools, churches, and hospitals, from the rumble strip requirement.

Exempts roads with insufficient shoulder width that would require acquiring additional right-of-way from the rumble strip requirement.
