Increases the annual clothing allowance for each plainclothes investigator employed by a sheriff's office from $400.00 to $1,000.00.

Board of supervisors maintains discretion to appropriate and pay the clothing allowance amount not to exceed $1,000.00 annually per plainclothes investigator.

Preserves existing provision allowing board of supervisors in Gulf Coast counties with specific population range (31,700-31,800 per 1990 Census) to provide $400.00 annual clothing allowance to county jail administrator.

Amends Section 19-25-13, Mississippi Code of 1972, with various technical grammar updates to use gender-neutral language ("or her" pronouns).

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
