Reduces the Mississippi Board of Nursing membership from thirteen (13) to eleven (11) members by removing the physician member and consumer representative member.

Eliminates the requirement that a licensed physician who is a member of the State Board of Medical Licensure serve on the Board of Nursing.

Removes provisions allowing the physician member and consumer representative to discuss and nominate but not vote for board officers.

Changes the minimum number of members required to call a special meeting from seven (7) to six (6) members and reduces the quorum requirement from seven (7) to six (6) members.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
