Allows students to drink bottled water on school buses while traveling to and from school, provided the water is in an original labeled, clear plastic bottle with an unbroken seal at the time of boarding.

Prohibits students from eating or drinking any other items or beverages on school buses during regular transportation to and from school.

Requires students to keep water bottles in their lap during transportation or in their book bag when not drinking, and to remove any bottles when exiting the bus.

Permits students to eat and drink on school buses during out-of-town extracurricular activities or field trips at the discretion of supervising school employees, teachers, coaches, or administrators with school board approval, provided items comply with school district policies.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
