Amends graduation rate calculation for school accountability by allowing districts to use either a four-year or five-year completion model, whichever is higher.

Provides students who fail the MAP assessment after three attempts the opportunity to enroll in an alternative exit course and take an alternate assessment to qualify for a standard diploma.

Allows students with disabilities to complete an alternative exit course and meet their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) goals to receive a passing MAP assessment score for graduation purposes.

Excludes students with severe cognitive disabilities from alternative exit course provisions and requires them to take the Mississippi Alternative Assessment instead.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
