Amends Section 41-9-69, Mississippi Code of 1972, to delete the requirement that hospitals notify patients before retiring X-ray film or graphic data.

Removes the provision requiring patient or representative written consent or certified letter notification before X-ray film retirement.

Eliminates the 60-day period that previously allowed patients to request that hospitals maintain X-ray film or graphic data for the standard hospital records retention period.

Retains the rule that X-ray film and graphic data may be retired 4 years after exposure or creation if written findings from a radiologist or qualified professional are retained per standard hospital records retention periods.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
