Standing, interim, and special committees and subcommittees of the Mississippi Legislature must make audio recordings of all official meetings.

Audio recordings must be preserved by the Legislature for three years following the meeting date and made available to the public.

Minutes of legislative committee meetings must include the audio recording of that meeting as required by the bill.

Audio recordings made by legislative committees are defined as public records under Mississippi's public records law.

The Legislature is subject to the audio recording requirement in Section 25-41-5, effective July 1, 2017.
