Exempts residents who are active duty, retired, or honorably discharged members of the Armed Forces (including Reserves and National Guard) from completing hunter education courses required to obtain Mississippi hunting licenses.

Exempted military members must carry proof of their military status as required by the Mississippi Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

Exempts military members issued apprentice hunting licenses from the requirement to be accompanied by a licensed hunter while hunting.

Applies to all hunting licenses except those previously exempted (apprentice licenses and combination small game licenses for non-military residents).

Effective date: July 1, 2017.
