Amends Mississippi Code sections 11-46-1 and 11-46-3 to clarify that parole and correction officers employed by the Mississippi Department of Corrections are included in the definition of "employee" under the Tort Claims Act.

Extends governmental immunity to parole and correction officers who leave state employment to work second jobs in law enforcement, including positions with private security firms, cities, counties, and apartment complexes as courtesy officers.

Brings forward sections 11-46-5, 11-46-7, 11-46-9, and 11-46-15 of Mississippi Code relating to tort claims liability limits, employee defense obligations, and governmental immunities for purposes of possible amendment.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
