Amends the definition of "year of teaching experience" in Mississippi Code Section 37-151-5 to include nine months of actual teaching at postsecondary institutions accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) or equivalent regional accrediting bodies.

Maintains the existing requirement that nine months of actual teaching in public or private elementary and secondary schools constitutes one year of teaching experience.

Clarifies that no more than one year of teaching experience can be credited for all services in one calendar or school year.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
