Brings forward existing law (Section 37-161-3) establishing the Mississippi Virtual Public School Program, which delivers K-12 instruction via the Internet to students in virtual or remote settings

Enrollment is free and open to any Mississippi resident student, with instruction provided through the State Department of Education and overseen by the State Board of Education

Private providers may be selected through a competitive RFP process to administer, manage, or operate the virtual school program, including total operations

Teachers must meet all Mississippi licensure requirements, and the State Board of Education retains approval authority over all coursework and policy

Subject to appropriation, the program provides students with necessary instructional materials, technology (computer, printer), and Internet access for school work
