Creates the Mississippi Data Management Working Group composed of nine members representing key state agencies and legislative offices to study state data management practices.

Working group shall research and report on quality, utility, and accessibility of databases maintained by all state executive, legislative, and judicial entities, including financial databases, data standards, retention policies, and security issues.

Requires the working group to submit a final report by December 1, 2018 to the Speaker, Lieutenant Governor, Governor, and Appropriations Committee chairs, with findings and draft legislation addressing data management concerns.

All working group files and records become work files of the PEER Committee upon completion of the report.

Working group and all provisions of the act are repealed on December 2, 2018, with the act taking effect July 1, 2017.
