Increases the minimum weekly unemployment benefit amount from $30.00 to $40.00 under Mississippi Code Section 71-5-503.

Modifies the weekly benefit calculation to ensure individuals whose computed benefit falls below $40.00 receive no benefits rather than a reduced amount.

Makes technical corrections to Section 71-5-503 including gender-neutral language ("or her") and minor wording clarifications.

Brings forward Section 71-5-505 regarding unemployment benefits for totally or partially unemployed individuals without substantive changes to that section.

Effective date of July 1, 2017.
