Commends the signing of a joint statement regarding travel cooperation between the United States and Taiwan, noting Taiwan tourist visits to the U.S. increased over 50 percent since 2012.

Encourages negotiation of a free trade agreement (FTA) between the United States and Taiwan, citing Taiwan as Mississippi's 9th largest export partner in Asia with $47.7 million in state exports in 2016.

Supports Taiwan's meaningful participation in the Communities of Democracies (CD), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Celebrates the 34th anniversary of the sister-state relationship between Mississippi and Taiwan and the sister-city relationship between Jackson and Chiayi City since 1983, encouraging Mississippi's membership in the Taiwan-United States Sister Relations Alliance.

Commends Louis M. Huang, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston, for his efforts in enhancing cooperation between Mississippi and Taiwan.
