Commends Lieutenant Colonel Bert E. Sullivan, Jr. for more than three decades of meritorious service to the United States Armed Forces, retiring effective March 1, 2017.

Sullivan served as a flight nurse and aeromedical evacuation technician with the 183rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron of the 172nd Airlift Wing in Jackson, Mississippi, accumulating over 2,000 flight hours and 689 sorties across multiple aircraft platforms.

Sullivan held key leadership positions including Commander of aeromedical operations at Bagram Air Base, Chief Nurse at Andrews Air Force Base, and served in 11 major operations over his 33-year career.

Sullivan supported humanitarian efforts during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and served in various squadron leadership roles including Director of Operations, Chief Nurse Executive, and Deputy Commander.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Lieutenant Colonel Sullivan and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
