Commends and recognizes the 190th Annual Council of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi for their efforts urging removal of the Confederate Battle Flag from Mississippi's state flag.

Acknowledges the Council's position that symbols are important to the church's mission and that a state flag should respect the dignity of all Mississippi citizens.

Urges the Mississippi Legislature to adopt a new state flag without the Confederate Battle Flag prior to the 2017 bicentennial of Mississippi's statehood and the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Bishop Brian R. Seage and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
