Commends and congratulates the Florence High School Eagles Football Team for completing a twelve-win season and capturing the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 4A District 6 Championship in 2016-2017.

Recognizes Head Coach Steve Pruett and his assistant coaches (Sean Gerald, J. Mike Smith, Josh Cavanaugh, Kaleb Barlow, Hunter Smith, Kevin Williams, Jason Moore, Harry Bates, Kira Burch, and Chuck Kenabrew) for their leadership and player development.

Honors nine First Team All-District players including Romallis Carey, Ashton Morris, Seth Barber, and six others, plus nine Second Team All-District players on the roster.

Highlights the team's historic achievements including first-time victories over rivals McComb, East Central, Purvis, Northeast Jones, and North Pike, and numerous school records set on offense.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Head Coach Steve Pruett and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
