Congratulates Evelyn Watkins from Meridian for being named the 2016 Mississippi Female Athlete of the Year in recognition of her running accomplishments.

Documents Watkins' athletic achievements including placing first in her age group at the 2016 State Games of Mississippi 5K Run, second in the female division, and seventh overall.

Notes Watkins has competed in 25 states with 33+ marathons, 18 half-marathons, 150 distance races, 10 triathlons, and a half-ironman completed in Chattanooga in 2016.

Recognizes Watkins' leadership as President of the Bonita Running Club and co-race Director of the Magnolia Marathon, where she mentors young runners.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Evelyn Watkins and the Capitol Press Corps.
