Recognizes the school's progressive education model providing inquiry-based, transdisciplinary instruction and its previous designation as a National Blue Ribbon School and consistent "A" ratings from the Mississippi Department of Education.

Acknowledges the school's specialized programs including Spanish and sign language instruction, Accelerated Reader, and science-based instruction developed in partnership with the University of Mississippi.

Credits the school's ranking achievement to dedicated faculty, staff, students, and supportive parents and community members who worked throughout the year.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Davis Magnet International Baccalaureate Elementary School Principal Kathleen Grigsby and the Capitol Press Corps.
