Congratulates Bobby Rush, 83-year-old bluesman, for winning his first Grammy Award on February 12, 2017, in the traditional blues category for his album "Porcupine Meat" at the 59th Grammy Awards.

Recognizes Rush's 66-year music career beginning around 1951, during which he recorded more than 370 songs and was previously nominated for three Grammy Awards.

Notes that Rush beat out fellow Mississippians Luther Dickinson and Vasti Jackson in the category, and won on the same night Charley Pride and Jimmie Rodgers received Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Acknowledges Rush's 2016 induction into the Blues Hall of Fame and his career beginning in Chicago with Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Etta James, and Howlin' Wolf before relocating to Jackson, Mississippi in the early 1980s.

Directs that copies of this resolution be furnished to Bobby Rush and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
