Notes that 80 percent of ovarian cancer cases are detected at advanced stages due to lack of reliable early detection tests, resulting in 25 percent mortality within one year of diagnosis.

Highlights importance of genetic testing and family history assessment, particularly for women with BRCA gene mutations that increase ovarian cancer risk up to 30 times.

Directs copies of the resolution to be furnished to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, Mississippi Governor, Secretary of State, and Capitol Press Corps.
