Recognizes Dr. James Anderson's 50-plus years of medical practice providing quality healthcare to low-income, uninsured, and minority populations in Mississippi.

Acknowledges his leadership in breaking down racial barriers in the medical field, including helping African-American physicians gain parity and full hospital privileges at St. Dominic's Memorial Hospital in Jackson.

Commends his role as founder and co-founder of community health centers including Delta Health Center in Mound Bayou and Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center, and as Director of Health at Jackson State University for over 30 years.

Honors his involvement in the civil rights movement with the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and founding of the Medical Committee for Human Rights, which helped establish federally funded community health centers and Mississippi's first Head Start program.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Dr. Anderson and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
