Commemorates the life and legacy of Mr. Richard Leonidas Redmon, who passed away on December 29, 2016, and expresses sympathy to his family and friends.

Recognizes his military service in the United States Air Force from March 1970 to September 1981, including his commission as a 1st Lieutenant in 1969 and numerous military commendations including a Bronze Star Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.

Honors his 27-year career in federal service at HUD Regional Offices in various roles, including as Senior Civil Rights Analyst at the time of his 2014 retirement, and his numerous civic awards and commendations.

Notes his dedication to charitable organizations, particularly the Union Gospel Mission in Dallas and Tennessee State University, and his role as founder and first president of the North Texas Chapter of Blacks in Government in 1989.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Mr. Redmon's family and Capitol Press Corps members.
