Commemorates the life and legacy of Joseph "Joe" Kent Buckner, who passed away on February 19, 2017, and expresses sympathy to his family and friends.

Recognizes Buckner's distinguished career as a soldier, athlete, educator, businessman, and musician, including his service as ROTC instructor and advisor to three Mississippi Governors on military transition.

Highlights his educational achievements (bachelor's degree in political science and master's degree in adult education from Mississippi State University) and his work as Director of Adult Education at East Mississippi Community College.

Notes his military service with the Mississippi National Guard, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel, and his representation of the United States in three international military competitions through CIOR.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to the Buckner family and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
