Commends Jim Ellis for his broadcasting career with Mississippi State University, which began in 1979, upon his semi-retirement from calling football and men's basketball games

Ellis, a West Point native and 1969 MSU graduate, assumed play-by-play duties for football and men's basketball in 2011-2012 following the retirement of Jack Cristil

Recognizes Ellis as a four-time "Outstanding Broadcaster in Mississippi" by the National Sports Media Association (1998, 2002, 2013, and 2014)

Notes Ellis will continue broadcasting MSU baseball games, the position he was originally hired for, while the lighter schedule allows more time with his wife and seven grandchildren

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Jim Ellis, MSU Athletic Director John Cohen, and the Capitol Press Corps
