Require all individual and group health insurance policies with prescription drug coverage to allow prorated daily cost-sharing rates for partial medication supplies when requested by patients or their pharmacists for medication synchronization purposes.

Prohibit insurance plans from denying coverage for partial prescription fills if medically appropriate and patient-approved for synchronization, and require plans to override "refilled too soon" denial codes for medication synchronization.

Mandate that insurance plans pay full dispensing fees for each partial prescription dispensed, regardless of prorated cost-sharing rates, and prohibit payment structures that incorporate prorated dispensing fees.

Apply medication synchronization requirements fully to the State and School Employees Health Insurance Plan and the Mississippi Medicaid Program.

Effective July 1, 2017.
