Amends Section 19-5-95 of Mississippi Code to create separate funding limits for counties based on population according to the most recent federal census.

Counties with populations less than 150,000 may appropriate up to $250 per fire department annually, plus up to one-fourth mill levy on taxable property for municipal fire departments, fire protection districts, and volunteer fire departments, with aggregate cap equal to one-fourth mill levy.

Counties with populations of 150,000 or greater may appropriate up to $1,000 per fire department annually, plus up to three-quarters mill levy on taxable property for municipal fire departments, fire protection districts, and volunteer fire departments, with aggregate cap equal to three-quarters mill levy.

Any appropriations made under this section are in addition to and do not restrict other funds available for fire departments under this section or other laws.

Act takes effect upon passage.
