Increases the maximum number of licensed school nurses eligible for a $6,000 annual salary supplement for national board certification from 35 to an unspecified higher number.

Requires certified school nurses to submit documentation to the State Department of Education by October 15 for full-year supplement eligibility or by February 15 for prorated second-term eligibility.

School nurses must hold a certificate from the National Board for Certification of School Nurses, Inc. and be employed by a local school board or State Board of Education as a school nurse, not as an administrator.

The supplement is paid directly by the State Department of Education to local school districts and cannot reduce any local supplements otherwise owed to the employee.

Effective July 1, 2017.
