Mississippi Department of Corrections must provide cash overtime pay instead of compensatory time to corrections supervisors and commanders for all overtime hours worked as defined under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

Amends Section 25-1-98 to allow exceptions to compensatory leave requirements for legal holidays when otherwise provided by law.

Amends Section 25-3-92 to permit exceptions to compensatory leave requirements for overtime work when otherwise provided by law.

Amends Section 25-9-119 to clarify that State Personnel Board rules and regulations are binding on state departments and institutions except as otherwise provided by law.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
