MS SB2121

Requires the State Oil and Gas Board to promulgate regulations mandating well-control training in the form of a blow-out prevention course for all personnel employed by permit holders who perform actual drilling or production of oil or gas wells.

Authorizes the board to set a fee representing the actual cost of providing the training, with fees deposited in the General Fund.

Amends Section 53-1-17 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 by adding subsection (8) to establish this training requirement.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
